The Dunya Journal of Medical Sciences (DJMS) is committed to publishing high-quality, original research that advances medical knowledge and improves healthcare practices in Somalia and beyond. Our editorial policy aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and integrity throughout the editorial process.

1.1. Scope and Focus
DJMS publishes research articles, review articles, case reports, editorials, and commentaries in the field of medical and health sciences. The journal prioritizes original contributions that advance healthcare practices, especially within Somalia and other developing regions.

1.2. Editorial Process

  • Initial Screening: Submissions are evaluated by the editorial office for scope, formatting, and adherence to submission guidelines.
  • Peer Review: Articles that pass the initial screening undergo a double-blind peer review process by subject matter experts to ensure unbiased evaluation.
  • Editorial Decision: Based on peer review reports, the editorial team decides to accept, request revisions, or reject the manuscript.
  • Revisions: Authors are given specific feedback for revisions, which are subject to re-evaluation before final acceptance.

1.3. Editorial Independence
The editorial board maintains full independence over the content and decision-making process. Commercial interests, sponsorships, or affiliations do not influence editorial decisions.

1.4. Appeals and Complaints
Authors have the right to appeal editorial decisions. Appeals should be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief and will be reviewed independently.
